Top of the Rock Attractions, Inc. is a family-owned and operated business based in
Durham, North Carolina. We have taken the "best practices" from our many years working in the
corporate world and turned them into a professional business that is fun, safe, and family
oriented.
The family is the core of our business and just as we are enjoying this opportunity to work
together as a family, we want you, your family and friends to enjoy a fun, safe and entertaining
experience.
Providing safe and reliable entertainment is our top priority! The Climbndangle®’s patented
auto-belay system exceeds all safety standards for rock climbing activities as set forth by the
NC Department of Labor / Amusement Devices Bureau. We carry a $1 million liability policy and
are proud of our perfect safety record.
All climbers are outfitted with sturdy safety harnesses that secure to the auto-belay system by
locking carabineers. The auto-belay system supports body weights from 35 to 250 pounds.
The climbing wall and surrounding area are enclosed with amusement fencing to control entrance
and exit, the number of climbers in the gated area, and to allow our climb masters to provide
individual attention to each climber. We do not tolerate unruly climbers - safety will not be
compromised.
One look at our operation and staff and you will see that we take great pride in what we do, how
we represent ourselves and our company. Our climb masters always present a neat and professional
image dressed in the company's Top of the Rock logo golf shirts and khaki trousers. The
equipment employed is top of the line, clean and polished - from the trailer bed to the signage
at the top of the rock.
Remember, we are a family oriented business and whether it’s offering an encouraging word to the
new climber and showing her how she will float down like an angel, or feeling the energy and
competition between two fraternity brothers racing to the top of the rock, it thrills us to see
these smiling faces and hear the cheers as they reach their destination. We enjoy what we do!
By the way, our most "senior" climber has been an energetic 81-year-old gentleman from
Topsail Island who challenged his daughter and grandson to make it to the top. What a smile he
sported!
