1) What is a simulated mobile rock-climbing wall and how does it work?
Top of the Rock Attractions, Inc. utilizes a 24-foot portable climbing wall called the
Climbndangle®. Our wall is outfitted with three distinct climbing surfaces, each with its own
auto-belay safety system. Each climbing surface varies in its design to match the different
climbing abilities of our customers. New climbers can easily scale the climbing surface
outfitted with multiple handholds closely spaced together, while the more experienced climber
will be challenged with fewer handholds strategically placed on an uneven climbing surface. All
climbers are outfitted with safety harnesses that secure with locking carabineers to the
auto-belay safety system. The patented auto-belay safety system, which is backed up with
redundant dual hydraulic engineering technology, allows for smooth ascent and descent of the
climbing surface. Experienced climb masters concentrate on coaching and encouraging the climber.
2) How much space is needed for your rock climbing attraction?
Space needs are similar to those for food vending concession trailers. Our climbing attraction
has a footprint of approximately 18 x 24 feet and is surrounded by 42-inch amusement fencing.
Any type surface that is fairly level is ideal for set-up of our rock climbing attraction.
3) How many climbers can a wall accommodate?
Our wall has three distinct climbing routes that can be modified prior to your event for varying
degrees of difficulty. Dependent on skill level, type of event and degree of difficulty of the
respective route, our climbing attraction will accommodate 80 - 120 climbers per hour.
4) Is there an age limit?
No. There is really no age limit, but more a weight and reach limit. The auto-belay system
allows for climbers between 35 and 250 pounds. We have had climbers from 3 to 81 years. Most
young children under the age of 4 can’t reach between the handholds to scale the wall. The
climbing wall is a great challenge to those young in age as well as those young at heart!
5) Is this safe?
Yes. Simulated mobile rock climbing walls have proven to be the safest amusement device in the
industry. We exceed all standards set forth by the NC Department of Labor / Amusement Device
Bureau. Top of the Rock Attractions, Inc. will not tolerate unruly climbers and safety
absolutely will not be compromised. We have had thousands of climbers on our wall and we
proudly stand behind our perfect safety record!
6) Do climbers have to wear shoes?
It is highly recommended that climbers wear flat-bottom shoes when scaling the climbing surface. This will promote secure footing, as well as protect the climber from stubbing his or her toes.
7) Do I have to be in good shape to climb the wall?
Yes, climbers must be in generally good health. Persons with back problems, heart
conditions, cast or splints, as well as pregnant women should not climb the wall. Your safety
is our top priority.
8) Are you insured?
Yes, we are fully insured. Top of the Rock Attractions, Inc. has a $1 million liability policy. Our insurance provider, Evanston Insurance Company, is rated by AMBEST.com as AAA++. Proof of insurance is included in each of our Letters of Agreement for an event.
9) How do I rent a rock wall, and what is included?
Top of the Rock Attractions, Inc. has several different financial arrangements tailored to fit
your specific event. Options include pay-per-climb (typically used at street arts festivals),
flat fee for all-you-can-climb (typically used for church events), pre-sell coupons, and other

10) Is set-up and breakdown part of the time I pay for?
No. We generally set up the wall approximately one hour before your scheduled event start time.
The wall will be available for climbing for the agreed upon period of time.
11) Do you require a deposit?
Yes. We require a deposit to hold your booking date. Dependent on the type of monetary
package, differing deposit guidelines may apply. However, this will be explained so that both
parties fully understand and agree to the terms and conditions in writing.
12) What if it rains?
If inclement weather is forecasted for the day of your event and we both agree before the event that it would be best to reschedule to a future available date, the deposit will be used to hold the future date. Once we deliver the equipment, we cannot make any adjustments for any "acts of God."
